Every 2 weeks students will be expected to complete a reading comprehension Reading Response. This allows students to demonstrate their comprehension skills and reveal how they feel about the book they are reading.  This includes:

• Reading at least 2 chapters of a novel of their choosing (no Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dogman or Diary based stories as they are hard to summarize).
• a summary (6-7 sentences about who, what where, why, when and how)
• connections (at least 2 “This reminds me of ….. because….” statements)
• at least one prediction and explanation about why the student makes that prediction

We will be working and reading daily on these Reading Responses. Please feel free to ask me any questions AS WELL AS have your student bring home their reading duotang to explain their report. 🙂
